It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Congregational Meeting January 18th

1 Peter 2:9…"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

The Administrative Board and Elder Board are calling the church together for a very important information update meeting, Sunday, January 18, 2009, following the service.

The members of the boards have had the opportunity to look back over the past years, to see how God has provided, how He has maintained and sustained this community of faith and the ministries entrusted to us. That look back brings us to the present. The state of the economy, the effect of the downturn of finances nationwide, has us looking at the budget, the ministries, and the overall expenses with a magnifying glass.

And we need everyone to know just where it is we find ourselves in regard to these matters, and to have everyone praying, asking questions, and offering help in an informed manner.

We are at a critical stage in the life of Holy Cross Church, at a crossroads…and we all need wisdom and discernment as we go forward.

Please make note of the scheduled January 18th meeting…effort will be made to keep the meeting succinct and over in an hour or less. YOUR presence and participation are needed and requested.

Thank you so much for your prayerful consideration of this matter. We will look forward to seeing you there.

Lift your spirits at Holy Cross

We will celebrate the holidays with exciting programs for children and adults alike. Crafty children 4th grade and below can join the Kids’ Club Christmas Craft Workshop on Friday December 12th from 7-8:30 PM. For $10 many precious gifts can be assembled, wrapped, and be ready to give to a friend or loved one.

Holy Cross welcomes all families and friends to celebrate each week counting down to Christmas. Services at 10:00 AM on December 14th will feature the uplifting message, “Talk about the Light,” and December 21st, “The miracle of Jesus.” During the service, children up through sixth grade enjoy a dynamic Sunday school program with nursery care also available. Be sure and stop by the coffee hour afterwards to enjoy warm fellowship and tasty treats. During the week, join us on Thursday night at 7:30 PM (December 18th) for traditional caroling and cookies in our Fellowship Hall.
